Dollars and Sense Websites to Visit
Believe it or not there are actually some places online that can walk you through
the basics of business accounting & investing without putting you to sleep -
unlike that stuffy old Econ prof back in college....Note: All sites will open in a
new window - to return to this page - simply close the new window.
IHateFinancialPlanning.com
http://www.ihatefinancialplanning.com/
From their own About Us: Financial planning fun? Yeah, right. Fun like a root
canal. Without the laughing gas. Are we talking the same financial planning that
turns normal, everyday people into raging procrastinators? Okay - I never thought
I would say this - but this is actually a FUN place about financial planning - and
they have forms, tools, calculators, games - and allthe while you are actually
learning something. And it's free so get over there - sign up and get started!
This fun-filled website is for everyone who loves money, hates planning, and
wants answers. And yes - they probably hope to someday sell you something
but in the meantime - there's a lot of great stuff here!

MakingBread.com
The Online Magazine for Women Who Need Dough
http://www.makingbreadmagazine.com
Okay - I have to admit that the red background and flashing graphics really turned
me off here but put on your sunglasses and surf a little deeper here - buried
under the 1990s style webdesign, there is some really great content. There is
both free and subscriber content, and if you have an extra $15, it is worth the
investment.
WomensWallStreet.com
http://www.womenswallstreet.com
A beautifully done site - clean modern design that is packed with info & easy to
navigate. Informative, precise - it is everything you want in an educational
site. I especially liked the various "personality" columns and the community
forums seemed to be very active. A real 5 star site!
The Women’s Institute for Financial
http://www.wife.org/
The Women’s Institute for Financial Education (WIFE.org) is the oldest non-profit
organization dedicated to providing financial education to women in their quest for
financial independence. Founded by Candace Bahr and Ginita Wall, these two
financial experts have probably educated more women in financial matters than
any school in the country. Great site and one of my favorite newsletters!
The GE Center For Financial Learning
http://financiallearning.com/ge/home.jsp
An truly incredible collection of articles, resources, tools and free interactive
workshops, that cover everything from buying an appliance (of course!) to owning
a business. The virtual workshops are pretty good, too - and free!

help them start managing their money as soon as possible!
Muriel Siebert's Women's Financial Network
http://www.wfn.com/
On December 28, 1967, Muriel Siebert became the first woman to hold a seat on
the male bastion of the financial world - the New York Stock Exchange. She was
also the first person to launch a discount brokerage house, changing the industry
forever, and opening the doors to many people that could not afford to invest in
the market under the previous expensive and restrictive terms. Today, her website
focuses on encouraging women to invest aggressively, by understanding the not so mysterious workings of the Market.
